WHAT IS A HEALTH CHECK SCREENING? We, as Health Check Coordinators are just as concerned with your children’s health, as you the parents, and child care providers are. We are safely guessing that you take your children to the Doctor when they’re sick, and we also know that if your children are WIC clients, they are no doubt up to date with IMMUNIZATIONS. Please note these visits are not Health Check Screenings. There are two elements that must be in place. First, the child must be well not sick. Second, a Health Check Doctor must perform the examination.
Please Remember with Medicaid/NC Health Choice your child does not need to wait until they are in pain or discomfort in order to be seen by a Dentist. Your child is entitled to receive regular dental exams every 6 months. And with Medicaid/NC Health Choice your child does not have to wait for visual problems to receive an eye exam once a year. We encourage you to take advantage of these services Right Away. Call your local coordinator for a list of providers in the area. |
