The goal of this program is to ensure proper reporting of communicable diseases, to investigate suspected outbreaks, and implement control and prevention measures as warranted. In addition, the program provides a channel of communication between public health agencies, private physicians, hospitals, and occupational infection control personnel.

Dogwood Healthcare Network (910-737-5010)
Dogwood Healthcare Network is a regional system of care for persons with HIV/AIDS. The system consists of three Infectious Disease (ID) clinics and provides referrals as needed to other healthcare providers. The three ID clinics include the Robeson County Health Department, Southeastern Regional AHEC and Tri-County Community Health Center. These clinics serve persons living in Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland Counties.
HIV Case Management
Case managers help people living with HIV or AIDs find the medical treatment and programs they need.
Robeson/UNC Specialty (910-671-3200)
Located within the complex of the Robeson County Health Department, the Robeson/UNC Specialty clinic is a partnership between the Robeson County Health Department and the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Medicine. Staffed by a physician specializing in infectious diseases and a nurse practitioner, the clinic provides comprehensive care for persons living with HIV and AIDS. Residents of Robeson and surrounding counties are served in the clinic. Clinics are conducted each Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling the Robeson County Health Department. Medicaid, Medicare and other private insurances are accepted. Services are provided to persons living with HIV and AIDS without regard to the individual’s ability to pay.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (910-671-3200)
The Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) clinic provides screening, testing, treatment, counseling and education about STDs. Clients may be tested for gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, herpes and HIV. Other screening examinations are available for bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis and nongonococcal urethritis. The services provided are confidential and at no cost to the client. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. You do not need to make an appointment; clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Syphilis/HIV Screening & Outreach (910-608-2271)
The Health Department, along with partnering agencies, conducts syphilis and HIV testing and counseling in non-traditional sites. The goals of this collaborative effort are as follows:
Tuberculosis Testing & Treatment (910-671-3200)
The Tuberculosis program assists in disease prevention, health promotion, and community outreach. The program offers services including skin testing and chest x-rays along with follow up of abnormal test results. TB medication is provided for patients with tuberculosis infection and tuberculosis disease. Services are available every weekday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. on Friday.
*North Carolina TB Control requires that tuberculin skin tests be read 48 to 72 hours after placement. Therefore, patients recieving skin tests on Thursdays will be responsible for having a licensed healthcare professional read the skin test and fax in documentation to the Robeson County Health Department.
