The Injury and Prevention program consists of Buckle Up, Safe Kids Coalition and employee safety. 

- NC Safe Kids Buckle Up
The program assists parents and other caregivers in providing a limited number of low cost child restraints and education on their use to qualifying families.   Only trained, qualified personnel are allowed to provide educational and installation assistance to parents/caregivers.  Child restraints are purchased through funding from the NC Governor’s Highway Safety Program. 

- Safe Kids Coalition
The mission of the Robeson County Safe Kids Coalition is to develop, implement and evaluate prevention programs in an effort to reduce the number of Robeson County children killed due to unintentional and preventable injuries.  The Coalition can provide educational materials and trainings about:

• Child proofing the home
• Proper child supervision
• Providing appropriate injury prevention devices such as a bike helmets, knee and elbow pads, mouth guards, and child car seats

The Safe Kids Coalition meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30 am at the Robeson County Health Department.

- Employee Safety
CPR and First-Aid certification are required for all employees.  A certified instructor conducts the trainings at the health department for employees.  Additionally, the instructor maintains a certification log to ensure certifications remain up to date.
